Black's Beach in autumn is pretty unreal. The water is still warm and the waves finally start picking up on a consistent basis. This ended up being the last session I documented before the seasons turned and San Diego got noticeably colder. I'm definitely looking forward to days like this once these storms pass.

ON THE ROAD: CENTRAL COASTING.
Every fall the crew at Aloha Beach Club takes a trip up the central coast to enjoy a little solitude before the hecticness of the holiday season. This rugged stretch of Californian coast doesn’t provide the most user-friendly surfing landscape.
Nonetheless, fun wave sliding can be had if you know where to look.

THUMBNAILS: EPISODE SIX // BROOKS STERLING.

SESSIONS: BLACK'S BEACH.
It's the first week of November and the ocean temperature is still unusually warm. Last Monday, our buddy's from Slowtide paid us a visit during a significant pulse in swell that was seen all over the county. So, we went for a splash in the near tropical waters and washed off the Monday blues with them. After the session we put their new, art-inspired towels to the test. I highly recommend getting your hands on one or all eight of them ASAP.
For more about Slowtide and their debut collection of rad towels visit: www.slowtide.co.
ON THE ROAD: SAN CLEMENTE.
Weekend camp trips can be pretty hectic if you have a big group of friends or a limited amount of time at your camping destination. Perched atop the bluffs overlooking San Clemente State Beach, The Holidays, offers beach campers a super convenient and unique camping experience. They currently have four trailers set up around the perimeter of a large camping plot located in the heart of the San Clemente State Beach campground.
The crew at, Aloha Beach Club, had the opportunity to stay at The Holidays early last month and it was a blast. The trailers are perfect for families and/or groups of friends looking to getaway for the weekend. The beach is a five minute walk from the site and the trailers offer a plethora of amenities, which makes the entire experience seamless. I highly recommend looking into a reservation if you have a trip planned to San Clemente in the near future.

Sessions: San Diego.
Warm water, record breaking heat, and motion in the ocean is the perfect recipe for early morning antics with the crew. Here are some images to prove how spoiled we are here in San Diego.
ON THE ROAD: BROOKLYN.
The first time I visited New York City the entire city lost power for two whole days. Midway through lunch at the ESPN Center at Times Square, my mom and I watched as every television screen in the restaurant fizzled out instantaneously. As a kid I didn’t understand the severity of the situation until we walked outside into the heart of Manhattan and I realized that every scrolling banner, screen, and light in the city was blown out like a birthday candle. It was the closest experience to the apocalypse that I hope to ever to have.
Since the summer of ’03, I’ve been back to New York a bunch of times. Every trip has been an absolute blast. I just got back from a week in Brooklyn and I have nothing but good things to reminisce about. There’s something extremely special about that city and it continues to mystify me every time I visit.
I made a quick visit to the Knickerbocker Mfg. showroom and factory in Brooklyn and I highly suggest checking out their wares. They design and manufacture everything in house. Give 'em a gander here.

Sessions: Black's Beach.
San Diego experienced quite the heat wave last week. When it's eighty-degrees before noon, flocking to the beach is the only way to properly cool off. The consistent flurry of waves was another justification for logging so many hours in the water.
On the Road: Northern California.
Last month, I wrapped up my California road trip a few hours north of San Francisco. I met up with my friend, Kelsey, and she kindly showed me around her old stomping grounds. We split our day and spent it at the coast in the morning, then finished it up at a warm water lake in the forest. I had never visited that part of the coast and I couldn't have asked for a better, local tour guide.
The water was warm, the waves were fun, and the mid-day hike was invigorating. California is such a unique part of the world because it offers a myriad of beautiful places to explore in a close proximity to one another. I cannot wait to visit that stretch of the coast again real soon.
